Friday Foto #24

So what is the big deal with a luggage cart standing in front of a door? Well, normally not that big a deal, but when said cart starts finding its way in front of your door EVERY day, then it becomes a big deal. And, when you come in from a long day and this same cart is parked in your hotel bathroom, then my friends, there are few words to describe that.

It’s all good though, because this particular luggage cart was one that just happened to be in our hallway at our hotel in Poland back in 2006. Usually these things wind up back down in the lobby just waiting for the moment to be called upon to haul up luggage to a room of another guest. For whatever reason, this cart felt the need to stay on our floor. And since one of the things that sleep deprivation will do to a person is give them whacky ideas, so we decided to have some fun with this cart and our next door neighbors on that missions trip, Emmett and Wendy Stallings.

Oh sure, it started out all innocent and what not, with us putting it in front of each other’s door like you see here, thus causing us to have to step through it each morning to get out of our room. But then, sooner or later, you gotta step it up, and do things like haul a monkey around the halls of the hotel in it, or, hop a terrace rail, sneak into your next door neighbors room, unlock the door, grab the cart and haul it into their (our) bathroom, then sneak back out, hop over the same terrace rail, and then race back up to meet said neighbors (us) in such a quick and efficient fashion, that nothing was ever suspected. Drummers are known for keeping great time . . .

Just let me share with you that there are few times in my life when I have laughed as hard as I did when I had to go to the bathroom, and opened the door, only to see this cart parked INSIDE. I’m cracking up just typing this out right now for you, the dear (and hopefully regular viewer) of this weekly Friday Foto feature.

What’s the lesson to cart off from here? Well, it may just be to be careful who you pick as your next door neighbors on a trip, and if you cannot pick them and they are picked for you, be on the lookout for those people, because it may just wind up being one of the best week’s of your life, and you could rack up a (bath) room full of sweet, lasting memories. And something as simple and utilitarian as a luggage cart could be a precious part of it. Just be careful like Emmett did when hopping that terrace.

I want to go on an AGM trip with you and Kristi and be on your team! :-) Reminded me of the time I received a pink, inflatable bunny as a White Elephant gift and left it in the host's shower before I went home.

THAT IS HILARIOUS!! Was it the Energizer Bunny? Do I know the host??

It was not the Energizer Bunny, but just an inflatable bunny that was about 5 feet tall. The hosts were Benton and Martha Austin White. Teehee! :-)
