Week 18 was not necessarily a frantic one like the previous week was post vacation, but there was still a lot happening. Mostly in the areas of sheetrock work on lots of little imperfections that had to be dealt with, and us caulking crown moulding, priming and painting some. Dennis Graham came on Monday and Tuesday to build our custom built-in bookcases for the bonus room, and our two little cubby doors in the same room. He did a fabulous job and we are thrilled with the results. Our infamous Port-O-Pot went away on Tuesday, which to me, was the first sign of this place returning to that of a home. Wednesday saw our new kitchen cabinets come in, which was very exciting. Now we just await the butcher block top for the new base cabinet, and a few pieces of hardware, and the kitchen is good to go.
Thursday found the trim carpenters returning to do the last little bit of trim work that they did not finish on Friday, and our beloved dumpster went bye bye. Bittersweet that was, and it has been here so long, that it really will be an adjustment period for me to get used to big red not being parked out there in the driveway. It was so full, you could not have pitched a business card in it before they hauled it off.
Friday was mainly a clean up day for Brooks, our contractor, and then he left to do other things. This weekend our goal is to concentrate on painting the ceilings in all the new rooms and the TX Room, as well as putting down backer board for the tile in the laundry room and filling nail holes in the crown moulding. Check back next weekend to see the latest, and as always, go here to see the latest photos.

I think I need to find something for your TX room to reward you for all of your perseverance--but it will be more and more worth it for years to come?
