Family Tree Illustration

A few months ago Kristi was asked about creating a family tree for some friends, and since she loves trees and had always wanted to do one, she immediately responded to them with a yes. Once she got the amount of names and knew a size she wanted to do it at, she did a large actual size sketch and we shot it and sent it to our friends to see if they were ok with the style. It was approved right away, and Kristi started on the final—choosing to combine some of her favorite ways to work—collage and paint, and created the tree above. The background is a soft blue Canson, with tobacco and dark green inked branches and leaves. The name leaves were cut from a soft olive Canson paper and mounted on top of the background.

Our friends were able to give this to their parents for a special anniversary gift, which we were happy to hear was very well received. We are both posting it on our blogs because we hope that others will see this and want to commission Kristi to do one for their family. If interested in obtaining one of these for your family or someone you know, please email me for prices and options.
