Happy Thanksgiving, welcome to Skankville

Last week we went out of town to see a friend who was stuck in Atlanta for Thanksgiving due to work, and though we had a great time seeing her, the price we paid for the fun visit was staying at the Days Inn on I-75 and Northside Drive, otherwise known as Skankville.

As you can see by the photos above, it is right next to Tiffany’s, and I’m not talking jewelry here people, although I am sure that this joint has some real “gems” in it. Nothing like being in a hotel that is literally connected to a Waffle House (aka AWFUL HOUSE ) that is right next door to a strip club. That my friends, is some quality city planning. You have all your needs met within 50 yards of your hotel room.

Of course with a strip club next door and a place to go eat later, most guests probably don’t care about such things as “occasional” wall paper borders, cracked tubs, carpet with holes in it, appliances that buzz, rattle or hum constantly or the gross toilet pipes on the toilet that spewed water like Old Faithful after you flushed it. Oh, and the roach that sometimes pops in for a visit. But hey the bed was great, and given the local environment, I suppose a good nights “sleep” is top priority there.

Our first mistake here was not looking on Trip Advisor to see what people thought about this particular Days Inn, because we could have saved ourselves a lot of fear over two nights stay there. Just read for yourself here. Note to self people, do your homework before booking a hotel next time. Even though this place is 10 minutes from Buckhead, the “Beverly Hills of the South,” it is SCARY. We survived though, and loved hanging out with our friend Allison for a few days. Plus, we got a good story from this experience and memories that will last us the rest of our lives!

my personal favorite review was the one where someone stayed in a room that people kept knocking on all night, looking for Jimmy JOE - priceless . . .

that place looks like where the phrase "good night, sleep tight- don't let the bedbugs bite" originated. might wanna check...(shudder).
