HOME ADDITION/REMODEL—Week 1

Well, here we are friends—the beginning of the blog posts about Insanity ’09—the addition/remodel project we are doing on our home. I am going to try to send a weekly update about what has happened and direct you to our flickr site, where you can see photos throughout the project.

So, for week 1, here is what happened—
• NES finally got their act together and finished up getting the temporary pole “hot” after codes approved an inspection on the pole. NES cost us 3 full days by not being so “customer” oriented.
• The “Green Machine” Port-O-Pot was delivered on Tuesday, as seen in the Friday Foto post yesterday
• Our AC condenser units were moved from the back of the house to the side, where they will live from now on. There was a lot of work involved here, but it all went very smooth
• Brick masons came on Thursday and removed all the brick off the back of the house. You can see video of this on FB

We were quite relieved to see some results this week after a long long time of planning, and waiting, on various people, especially BofA and NES lately. But, all that aside, we are underway now, and am grateful for the progress thus far. It was a good first “real” week of action, even though that pole has been in our back yard for 3 weeks now. So much of this has been waiting. As Tom Petty says, it is the hardest part.

Tune in each week to see updates and be sure to check our Flickr site here for more photos each week.
