MONDAY: Framing began on the little built in bookcases for the bonus room, as well as an access door for a custom laundry shoot that Kristi had the brilliant idea about. There was also the final bits and pieces of work for the old dormer, and we got zipper doors installed for dust containment in two areas.
TUESDAY: Bye-bye old dormer. In one day, it was removed, and the framing done for the area it occupied, as well as the wall that separates the bonus room from the old “landing.” Dormer demo day has been my most dreaded day of the whole thing, but it went very well. Even though it was VERY LOUD. Plumbing rough in began today as well on our powder and laundry rooms.
WEDNESDAY: Our windows and exterior french door showed up this morning, and the guys got to work on that right away with installation of the upstairs windows, as well as the framing of our 2 storage closets in the bonus room. Plumbing rough in finished up today and we should be getting that inspected tomorrow with a hopeful green light on things.
THURSDAY: More windows installed, and the wall opening being demo’d going from the kitchen into the new dining room. We also got the framing done for the new TX Room doorway and the new door heading to the bonus room.
FRIDAY: Windows installation finished up, while the wall behind the stove was framed so we can get our new kitchen cabinets to fill in a gap that exists now where we used to be able to go to the back door. Clear as mud right? The kitchen wall was also opened up which will lead to the new dining room. It was a very productive week overall, and we are most thankful for all the hard work the framers did on this job. They were amazing.
Until next week, go here and see the photos from this week.

I love that you spelled it "laundry shoot"... with my abilities (!) with bleach, it's more like a crapshoot!! :)
First, I love the new photo of you on the right side of this blog. Secondly, I like how your kitchen now looks like a decontamination shower you might find in a public high school in Alabama.
Our whole house is a decontamination chamber these days. The plastic is down now, and there is plywood where the bubble used to be. You’ll see in the next round of photos.
